Tattva-viveka

Just a joke

Madhavendra Puri Dasa - January 22, 2007 10:01 pm

I hope you forgive me bringing this bit of humor to Tattva Viveka, but I couldn't´t help myself, it is really good joke. Specially brahmacaris may like it:

There is old grihasta laying on his death-bed. He is surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many many other relatives. All are looking at him with affection and sadness. He is looking at them, and suddenly he starts to cry very heavyly. Seeing this his family members ask him:

-Are you crying because you don't want to leave us?

-It´s not this - he answers trough tears

-So why?

-I remember I was this young brahmacari; I lived in asram with my guru, I served deities, I chanted my 16 round every day, waking up for mangala arati, I even had my Toshiba laptop, Pentium 3:)), and !Pod, with which I could listen to the lectures of my Guru Maharaja...

And then I met that grihasta. We were talking and he said: "Listen boy-you are not getting any younger, you maybe ok here, in the asram, but the truth is, your life is escaping you, and be careful, because when you will get old, and when you will be leaving this world, laying on death-bed, there maybe no one near you to give you even glass of water." So this devotee really convinced me, and soon I got married, and...

Old grihasta started to cry even more. His wife took his hand to hers and asked:

-And what, my dear?

-And I am not thirsty at all!!!

If we are required to ask forgiveness for posting a bit of tasteful humor, I'm outta here!
