I f one wants to renounce the world

Dhiralalita - January 25, 2008 2:29 pm

If one wants to renounce the world:

Not by wearing saffron cloth, not by restricting food and other sense-activities, not by living in the forest, not by discussing philosophy, and not by observing a vow of silence, but only by even the slightest beginning of devotional service to the lotus feet of Lord Govinda, who enjoys pastimes on the Yamuna’s wide banks, is Kamadeva stopped.

Beauty!

Unfortunately it’s not that simple, but yes the poetry is beautiful.

AMEN TO THAT!

Well, the poem says nowhere "immediately."

Let's say Kamadeva is being stopped. Then again, it's all a matter of what Kamadeva we choose to focus on...

Personally, I want Kamadeva to keep shooting, so one day one of his puspabanas will hit me and my consciousness will change so much as to never need a material body (ananga) anymore :)
