Flowers for the Opening!

Guru-nistha Das - February 7, 2008 5:41 pm

Here's a great opportunity to take part in the Grand Opening arrangements:

Guru Maharaja called me the other day and said that he would like to spend $1000 for flowers that would decorate the temple room. Because of the two constructions going, we can't afford it ourselves, so we would like to extend the service opportunity for you. Big or small, all donations will be greatly appreciated. I will keep posting the amounts and donors in this thread as they'll keep coming in.

Prema-bhakti - February 7, 2008 7:55 pm

Put me down for $200.00, TC.

Guru-nistha Das - February 7, 2008 9:18 pm

We also got $300 from an anonymous donor. Only $500 to go.

Guru-nistha Das - February 13, 2008 6:24 pm

Audarya-lila: $20

Also both of Audarya-lila's kids Daniel and Christina pitched in $20!

Another thing, I would like to announce a transcendental competition:

Vrindaranya found miniature carnations for 12 cents a piece. The idea is to use them to string garlands for the decoration of the temple, so we need a lot of them. The task is to try to find as cheap carnations as possible with a better price. Large carnations, if compatible in price, would be even better since we would need less of them. When you do your research, take into consideration the shipping costs too. Let's see who gets the best price!

Vamsidhari Dasa - February 14, 2008 4:23 pm

If I had a bigger car I could go to the SF flower market in the morning and buy flowers. The prices are not whole sale but close to it. If someone buys me a new car (large one) I will definitely go  Any takers? Maybe someone with a big car can go with me.

Guru-nistha Das - February 21, 2008 5:13 pm

So nobody swallowed my competition bait?

Shyamsundar, you have too much time on your hands anyway, how about some research? :P

Syamasundara - February 21, 2008 5:59 pm

I am not quite sure how to take that :P , and I am not a competitive person. However, you have personally offered me a service, and I can't refuse. I'll see what I can do. It seemed overwhelming and out of my hands, that's why I didn't even consider it.

If you don't hear from me, it means I haven't found anything.

Guru-nistha Das - February 21, 2008 6:04 pm

Hahaa, the "too much time" bait was swallowed! :P

Anyway, thanks for volunteering.
