Ratha Yatra?

Margaret Dale - June 14, 2008 2:17 pm

Will GM be back for Ratha Yatra in SF?

Nitaisundara Das - June 14, 2008 4:14 pm

yup!!

Syamasundara - June 14, 2008 5:47 pm

Whether he'll be back in time or not, the real question is, are we going?

I guess Sri Baladeva will be manifest as long as GM is singing for him, but I'm thinking of all those "devotees" who will spoil their future with their improper behavior and mentality, leaving a bad taste in our mouths, too. Every year there has been something nasty happening...

Otherwise, I was blissed out during the last RY (after 7 years...). So if we go, I'll be there.

Swami - June 16, 2008 4:44 pm

Yes, plan on the RY festival in late July.

News flash:

I have suffered an injury here after falling on the rock bed of the river--badly bruised ribs. It has been a few days since the accident and the devotees have ben taking care of me and I am now up and around and healing (25% better). More time for reflection. Otherwise all is well here. We should have a fully functioning monastery before the end of this year to the standard of Audarya before Gaura Vijaya Mandir was built. Visitors welcome. Bring your tent. It is all in the lotus hands of Krsna and Balarama.

Internet and phone are scheduled to be installed next Tuesday. video conferencing should be possible then.

Babhru Das - June 16, 2008 6:01 pm

Ouch! I know about bruised and broken ribs. I guess it's a good opportunity for the devotees at Madhuvana to offer more personal service than they'd otherwise be able to. Get well.

The rest of your post is wonderful news! Thank you.

Bhrigu - June 16, 2008 6:17 pm

Ouch indeed! Get well soon, Guru Maharaj!

Gandiva Dasi - June 16, 2008 11:28 pm

Hope you get well soon Maharaj! , and are fully recovered before you have to ride horseback , ouch! Sounds like things are progressing so fast there. Thanks to the efforts of all the brave pioneers.

Madan Gopal Das - June 16, 2008 11:59 pm

Get well Guru Maharaj! Sorry to hear about your injury... Were you playing too hard?

Syamasundara - June 17, 2008 12:01 am

It seems amazing that everything is progressing so fast, despite the language barrier and the remoteness of everything.

Get well soon! I also know all about bruised ribs; still have vivid memories of me on the ground yelling for help and Dharma's big head pounding up and down on my chest

Yes, clearly Balarama is sustaining the whole effort there. Nayam atma bala hinena labhyah!

Zvonimir Tosic - June 17, 2008 12:06 am

Dear Swami, please get well soon ... All the best.

Prema-bhakti - June 17, 2008 3:46 am

Take care Guru Maharaja. Glad to hear the CR project is moving along.

Vamsidhari Dasa - June 17, 2008 5:55 am

Ohhhh, sorry to hear that you got injured Guru Maharaja. I hope it is nothing bad. Sounds like it is just a bruise. Wishing you speedy recovery.

Rama-priya - June 17, 2008 8:01 am

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury dear Guru Maharaja. I hope You'll soon recover your health, your vital forces.

Gaura-Vijaya Das - June 17, 2008 1:53 pm

Maharaja I hope you get well soon and recover from the injury.

Madhukari Dasi - June 18, 2008 12:08 pm

Dear Guru Maharaj, the london devotees and I pray you take good rest and make a full recovery.

The main Jagannatha, Baladev and Subhadra here are also unwell after a big snana yatra festival. We are hoping they will be better too, by sunday for the London Ratha Yatra.

Madhukari Dasi - June 18, 2008 9:39 pm

Perhaps this may be of use, if not known already. It was sent by a budding ayurvedic fan in reference to damaged tissue:

"Turmeric is very good for pain. One teaspoon or tablespoon in milk will take the pain away. A poultice externally of some healing herbs like Comfrey can speed up the cell proliferation and heal the damaged tissues, but local herbs may do the same thing. Ginger boiled in water is also good for pain."

Many other people have advised drinking turmeric in milk before sleep and also making a paste out of it and applying it externally to the problem area.

Bijaya Kumara Das - June 20, 2008 11:29 am

Dearest Guru Maharaja:

Sorry to hear about the injury. Bone only heals when stressed, but take it easy with the ribs for they hold up the lungs and if bruised deeply plurisy may set in. I had to deal with it for a few years after a car accident and it flares up if I lift something wrong. Please be careful and let every one else do the lifting. Look forward to seeing you at Ratha yatra or sooner if possible. A speedy recovery is sent your way.

Syamasundara - June 20, 2008 11:23 pm

And..... what date are we talking about for the RY?

Madan Gopal Das - June 21, 2008 3:58 am

the date of ratha yatra is July 27th.

Caitanya-daya Dd - June 21, 2008 6:58 am

get well soon, guru maharaja. That must have been painful, but we all wish for a speed recovery :-)
