Sri Sri Krsna-Balarama have arrived

Vrindaranya Dasi - February 14, 2009 10:22 pm

Sri Sri Krsna-Balarama have arrived in California from their journey over the Atlantic. They are even more beautiful than the Krsna-Balarama Deities in the picture we were sent previously. By some extraordinary mercy we seem to have been blessed with the most beautiful Krsna-Balarama Deities this side of Goloka. Clearly their Lordships are pleased with their dear servant, our beloved Guru Maharaja, and have showered their blessings on us with these most exquisite forms. Prepare to be stunned.

Sri Sri Rama-Chalacikana ki jaya!

May the festivities begin... :ninja:

I would like to take this opportunity to bless all the devotees who have helped to bring Krsna and Balarama into my life in this form. I take it that Prabhupada has inspired you from within to be instrumental in making the direct service of Krsna Balarama possible here at Madhuvan. May you all attain eternal service at their lotus feet. :ninja:

Wow. . . speechless. Can't wait to see them in person!

Gaurasundara Das - February 15, 2009 1:26 am

OMG!!

Syamasundara - February 15, 2009 1:37 am

I stared at that picture for 6 minutes, but my body could not contain that beauty. All I could do was sigh and giggle. Did you see Balarama's smile? And the eyes? I was telling Gaurasundara this morning that I don't like it when deities look up. Who's God looking at in the sky? I want them to look at me! When I saw this picture I almost lost it.

I don't think I can sleep now. I am glad I have the company of everybody here, so I can share. I want to see those faces every time I close my eyes.

Gandiva Dasi - February 15, 2009 1:41 am

:ninja: They are truly stunning!

What does their name mean? I could only find out that the deities of Bhugarba Goswami in Radha Damodara temple are named Sri Sri Radha Chalacikana, but not the meaning?

Hari Bhakti - February 15, 2009 1:43 am

How exciting and stunning! When will they make the trip to Madhuvan?

Hari Bhakti - February 15, 2009 1:46 am

If my memory serves me correctly I think Chalacikana - refers to Krsna being tricky or mischeiveous. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Swami - February 15, 2009 2:25 am

You have a good memory Hari-bhakti.

Chala means deceitful, cheater, thief/rogue. Chikana means beautiful, full of luster. So Beautiful Thief. I think of it like this. It reminds me of the Bhagavatam verse Prabhupada used to cite describing how Krsna takes everything away from those he loves dearly. This in my mind is a beautiful way to deceive someone. I too have had everything taken away from me. I had nothing in Iskcon, no possessions. And I gave my life to it, but Krsna took it and my good reputation therein away from me! But in the end it was a blessing. I was blessed with the association of Pujyapada Sridhara Maharaja and all of you.

Hari also means thief and it is the favorite name for Nanda's son in Vraja. The residents think of it like this. That he has stolen their hearts. Very beautiful thief indeed. Jaya Ram Chalchikan!

Did you see Balarama's smile?

The first thing I noticed too Shyam. Amazing.

I feel so special just to be part of this group relishing the same experience. Thank you all. Thank you Guru Maharaj!!

Babhru Das - February 15, 2009 5:35 am

Wow. :ninja: I'm certainly in danger of losing my heart. I also was struck by Baladeva's smile. I don't know how long I stared at the picture, but it was quite a while. Then I checked my mail to discover I had work to do.

Truly stunning! Krishna seems so mysterious and mischievous...

Syamasundara - February 15, 2009 12:35 pm

So, I could fall asleep, and I dreamed that Vrndaranya was showing slides of various Krsna-Balarama deities to the others while I was doing the dishes in the next room :) At one point I peaked in and saw one of Balarama's milky torso, with a silver plow on his left shoulder and the handle across his chest, a pink nipple, a blue dhoti with red trim, and it was soooo beautiful.

I can't believe the face of our Balarama. He looks like he's going to forgive any of Krsna's mischief, and hopefully ours.

Now Vrajasundari and I are researching small flowers to plant, so they will have proportioned garlands. :ninja::)

Rama's face definitely seems to have an expression of covering for Calacikana. Can't you see him saying "I haven't taken my eyes off him all day! If your stuff (material desires, butter/yogurt, young gopi's heart) is gone, it definitely wasn't him. No, no, this boy has been right here!" :ninja:

Very beautiful and impressive. When will they go to Madhuvan?

Probably when Guru Maharaja returns to Madhuvan next. Which means that they will be at Audarya for Guru Maharaja's sixtieth birthday celebration! :ninja:

Hearing GM turns 60 makes me realize how precious time is, and how I need to pick up the CC and come to a better understanding.
