"Vedanta Sutra"

Yamuna Dasi - February 14, 2009 10:29 pm

Is there feeling in “Vedanta Sutra”?

Could it be written “Vedanta Sutra – It’s Feeling and Philosophy”?

Guru-nistha Das - February 15, 2009 12:01 am

I'd say Srimad Bhagavatam is Vedanta sutra's "feeling and philosophy".

Then what remains for "Vedanta Sutra" itself if neither feeling nor philosophy are there? :ninja:

No, its got philsophy but little if any feeling, while SB has both.

Maybe Sri Ramanuja and Nimbarka have actually put feeling into Vedanta Sutra but through their devotion.

Do you mean in their commentaries on "Vedanta Sutra"?

Yes

Yes

Feeling means rasa. There is no rasa in Vs., only tattva, or philosophy. Obviously this does not mean that Vaisnava commentators on the sutras have no feeling.
