prayer for a friend hari kirtana das

Gaura-Vijaya Das - March 24, 2009 3:00 am

For those of you'll who may not be aware, a congregational devotee of Atlanta temple,

Hari Kirtna prabhu, a disciple of H.H. Bhakti Tirtha Maharaj, left his body yesterday

(Sunday). While working at a store he was robbed and shot.

I knew him pretty well as a very open minded devotee who supported my association with GM. He came to US only to see the departure of B.T Swami.

I would request devotees to kindly pray for the departed soul, who was a good friend of mine.

Prahlad Das - March 24, 2009 4:28 am

I am sorry for your loss, and pray to have faith in the magnanimity of the Vaishnavas, that they will continue to hold this recently departed soul close to the mission of Mahaprabhu and continue to engage him in its seva. Gaura Hari Bol!

Devyah-pati Das SERBIA - March 24, 2009 6:14 am

Prabhu, I offered my prayers for your devotee friend.

May he find eternal peace in loving connection with Lord Chaitanya.

Ys,

Devyah-pati das

Please accept my condolances, Gaura Vijaya. You may find some consolation in the svalpam apy asya dharmasya trayate mahato bhayat and na hi kalyana-krt kascid durgatim tata gacchati-verses.

Hari Kirtana Prabhu ki jaya!

‘duhkha-madhye kona duhkha haya gurutara?'

‘krsna-bhakta-viraha vina duhkha nahi dekhi para'

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu asked, "Of all kinds of distress, what is the most

painful?"

Sri Ramananda Raya replied, "Apart from separation from the devotee of

Krsna, I know of no unbearable unhappiness."

This bit of news has affected me particularly. One Vaishnava less in this world makes it that much emptier. That's one less tongue that will utter the Holy Names.

I'll try to engage in extra nama seva today. I hope he left in the best consciousness.

Swami - March 24, 2009 3:19 pm

This news is very disconcerting. I pray for his progress and for those who he has left behind.

Nitaisundara Das - March 24, 2009 5:49 pm

I am sorry to hear this Gaura-Vijaya. Through you he has obtained the well-wishing of GM, and I am sure many other devotees are certainly feeling the same. That should be some form of comfort in a difficult time like this.

Babhru Das - March 24, 2009 6:57 pm

Having lost a devotee friend to a similarly senseless act of violence 30 years ago, I know how hard this can be. My condolences to you and all the other devotees left behind.

Madan Gopal Das - March 24, 2009 7:07 pm

Very sorry to hear bhai. May you both find shelter in Krsna-nama.

Gaura-Vijaya Das - March 24, 2009 8:18 pm

Thank you GM and all the devotees here for praying for him. He is certainly blessed.
