My friend just sent me this video that evoked mixed feelings in me. It is about atheism, agnosticism and theism.

I don't see why the mixed feelings. About what?

Because he said that if I do not agree to kill my child if God directs me to, I am an atheist. Perhaps I am still an atheist according to his definition.

I don't see why Jilette's assertion that you'd be an atheist concerns you. After all, that's his way of saying you're okay with him (because it would indicate you don't really believe). The guy is a professional skeptic, and he's also something of an evangelical atheist. Why worry about him? I frankly don't give a damn what he thinks about me.

It's a silly argument. There is a story in the Bible where God does just that (can't remember all the details) and his devout servant is prepared to follow the order and then God says something like - 'just testing you'. The silly part is that God has no agenda for killing. Hypothetical 'if God' statements are just nonsense made up by fools who put too much stock in their meager intellectual abilities. People like this get a glimpse of the wonder of God through nature (even that most can't really appreciate and don't stop to really take in the beauty of it) but they will never get a glimpse of chamatkara - they cannot touch divine rapture, nor do they have any conception of it.

But there are instances where Krsna tells his devotee to kill. So I would answer that there may be a place for that in this world of killer and killed. If your country tells you to kill someone would you do it? Soldiers certainly do. Can this man make a credible case for all solders being crazy because they follow an order to kill? The US Civil War found family members killing one another over the isue of freeing the Negroes from slavery. Certainly the North felt that God was on their side. Furthermore, what is this man killing for? Or what does he live for and how much killing does his lifestyle involve?

Good point. Krsna does tell his devotees to kill on occasion. My only point is that this fellow is asking the hypothetical question 'what if God told you to kill your own child?' The obvlous implication is that a person who believes God told them that is crazy and to be lumped in with the Jim Jones' and Haley Bop followers of the world. That's why I said it is a foolish hypothetical question. There are many obvious answers to his silly question - but I really like what your answer to him is - pushing it back at him and putting him on the spot.
