Tattva-viveka

It would be nice if somebody can make video of VP lecture 2010

Devyah-pati Das SERBIA - January 28, 2010 11:20 am

Haribol!

For us all, who would not be able to participate Vyasa Puja of

Guru Maharaj, it would be nice if somebody can make video

of VP lecture and post it on the net so that we can also see GM

while he is speaking.

If this is possible, please do it. :Praying:

Ys,

Devyah-pati das

Vyasa Puja lecture is available on:

Do you know, what a song sing Swami and others before Vyasa Puja lecture?

Is there some kind of norm in Vyasa-puja ceremony in Audaria?

I mean something extra beyond the guru puja, puspanjali, offerings, lecture...

I will be grateful for any prompt

This is the song Srila Prabhupada wrote during the crossing of the Ocean coming to America in which he asks Krishna to give him the blessing to preach in America. In terms of the ceremony and norms it is more a spontaneous show of love to GM then any prescribed ritual. We do offer pushpanjali, gifts, and dandavats but every year we do it a bit differently. Again, I think Audarya is more about love then rules. Hari Bol!!!!

Thank you very much Vamsidhari for your answer :Just Kidding:

I hope, I find the text of this song and maybe we sing it next year in Poland.

This song is very nice.

In this year we (my husband Nava-yauvana and I) celebrated Swami`s Vyasa Puja with friends.

We did it first time.

We did puspanjali, guru puja and dandavats, some presentation from Audaria and Madhuvan and so forth.

How wonderful to open the talk with that song! Madan Gopal recorded the song on Saturday and posted it on Facebook. I was also quite charmed last fall when a young woman here in Alachua sang that song for Srila Prabhupada's tirobhava festival. (She is a music student of Badahari's, and he apparently taught her the song.)

Another nice song for Vyasa-puja which was sung before the first lecture (not on ustream) is Sri Guru Parampara. Discussed here.

If anyone would like to download "krsna tava punya" it is part of my offering on the VP site, but does not open directly from the "madan and gaurangi" link. Read Krzysztof's very nice offering and then click "next" at the bottom of the page and my page opens properly.

Caitanya-rupini: This song is not necessarily a Vyasa Puja standard song, but it is one of GM's favorites and so it was sung for his pleasure. Prabhupada is praying to his friend Krsna and we all get to witness his special relationship. Here is a translation:

TRANSLATION

Refrain: O, brother (Krsna)! You will certainly become pious, but only when Srimati Radharani first becomes pleased with you. This I surely declare to you.

1) Sri Srimad Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, who is very dear to Lord Gauranga, the son of mother Saci, is unparalleled in his service to the Supreme Lord Sri Krsna. He is that great saintly spiritual master, most magnanimous within this universe, who bestows devotion to Krsna in various places throughout the world.

2) His desire is very powerful, and thus he is causing the Holy Name of Lord Gauranga to spread throughout all the countries of the Western World. In all the cities, towns, and villages on the earth, extending to all the oceans, rivers, and streams, everyone may accept the Holy Name of Krsna.

3) Thus all directions will be conquered by a flood of transcendental ecstasy flowing with the excessive mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. When all the miserable living entities that have been corrupted by maya become happy, then the Vaisnava's desire is fulfilled.

4) Although my Guru Maharaja ordered me to accomplish this mission, I am unworthy to do it, being very fallen and incompetent. That being the case, O Lord Krsna, Your mercy is today arising in a befitting manner to make me become worthy, for You are the wisest of all.

5) If You bestow Your divine power, then one attains the factual substance which is service to the spiritual master - and life becomes successful. If that service is obtained, then one becomes truly satisfied, and ultimately received Your association due to good fortune.

6) (As stated by Prahlada Maharaja to Lord Nrsimhadeva in the Srimad Bhagavatam, 7.9.28:)

"Thus, by associating with material desires one after another, I was following the general populace by falling into a blind well full of snakes. My dear Lord, O Supreme Personality of Godhead! Then the great sage Narada Muni kindly accepted me as his disciple, and instructed me how to achieve the transcendental position similar to his own. How could I ever leave the service of your servant?"

7) O Lord Krsna, You are my eternal companion. Forgetting You, I have suffered the kicking of maya birth after birth. If today the chance to meet You occurs again, then surely I will be able to rejoin You.

8) O my dear brother! In Your company I will experience great joy once again. Wandering about the pastures and fields, I will pass the entire day with You in tending the cows. Joking with You and frolicking throughout so many forests of Vraja, I will roll upon the ground in spiritual ecstasy. When, oh when will that day be mine?

9) Today that remembrance of being with You came to me in a very nice way. Feeling great longing I called out for You, O Lord Krsna! Only because I am Your eternal servant do I desire Your association so much. Except for You, I have no other refuge.

For more discussion of this song see this thread or the "oh my friend" book which was at www.cowdust.us - doesn't seem currently available.

Hari, Madan Gopal :)

I know that this song is not necessarily for Vyasa Puja :) but it is so nice...and now I know, that Swami like it :) so probably we will sing it :)

I found the text and translate:

Did you know that Krzysztof is the translator Swami`s book into polish?

If you do not already know, please note; the translation of the refrain in iskcon publications is wrong and significantly changes the meaning. Prabhupada is addressing Krsna as his brother (bhai), telling Him that He will become pious by pleasing Srimati Radharani - who BSST serves...

Prabhupada is NOT addressing us, the souls of the world as "O brothers!" saying that we will get our good fortune from Krsna. Important.

Did you know that Krzysztof is the translator Swami`s book into polish?

Yes, that is awesome!!! What a great service!

Caitanya Rupini - March 4, 2010 3:23 pm

Thank you for clarifying this point.

You`re right - that`s important.

Babhru Das - March 7, 2010 3:07 pm

My godbrother Dasarath-suta published a book of Srila Prabhupada's poetry last year. His translation of Srila Prabhupada's "Prayer to the Lotus Feet of Krishna" began, as mistranslated long ago, "Oh, brothers!" Someone asked him about that (was it you, Madan?), and he replied, "Yes--that's the only error in the book."

Madan Gopal Das - March 7, 2010 8:10 pm
"Yes--that's the only error in the book."

Yes, that was me. If you only make one error in the book, don't make such a big one. Misunderstanding bhai in that song takes you down a completely different road in relating to and understanding Prabhupada. I guess we're not the ones needing the education here. :)
