Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Jayatah!

Dandavat pranams,

I’m a new member of this forum and would like to express my humble gratitude to Vrindaranya dasi for inviting me. Thank you very much!

I would like to tell you about myself. I'm 34 years old, was born in Moscow, Russia. Around 1987, when I was 18, meet with Premavati Devi Dasi during Sankirtan her group was doing on Arbat Street in Moscow. Was instantly hooked. Was attending talks and programs, doing Sankirtan, distributing books, doing rounds. Brought a lot of my friends to Krishna. Around 1989 was "saved" by my parents why brutally pulled me out. Being a parent myself, now I can understand their motivation, but still regret it by this day. Got married in 1992, immigrated to United States. How work as a software engineer, have two sons (8 and 2 years old). Wife is a software engineer as well. Although I formally left the movement, I never stop reading books by Guardians, news about Vaishnavas. Then the story about Harikesha Swami broke out... That was very discouraging, but none the less his work in Russia was outstanding, I’m sure he will not be borne again. Several years ago while visiting New York meat with Kapindra Swami from Prabhupada Sankirtan Society, designed his web site (now butchered by somebody else). Couple of years ago went to ISKCON San Jose to see what they've been doing, went once and never came back. So you can call me a standard American :) two kids, wife, dog, house. But pain of separation from the Godhead is getting worse with every year passing. Of course I'm living a life of householder and I have a lot of family responsibilities, so cannot just dropout and become ascetic brahmacari on the way towards sannyas like many lucky souls here, but I would like to be closer to Krishna than I currently am. This is my goal. By the grace of Krsna and his devotees I found Swami B.V. Tripurari. I’m listening to his lectures and feel as I felt long time ago during Sankirtan on frozen Moscow streets, this almost forgotten feeling of excitement and spiritual bliss. I’m not as advanced as many of you but humble and sincere so please be gentle with me :)

Thank you very much!

Yuri,

I am happy to see you on our forum. It was great that we have all connected. We are having our Kirtana event in Santa Rosa on July 31st. If you could make it you can meet some of our spiritual community members. Some of us may even go to Audarya the next day, Sunday.

with affection,

Gopa
