Is it service to hear guru?

Devyah-pati Das SERBIA - July 22, 2010 11:18 am

Can hearing of guru's lecture, or reading his book

(or text that he has written), be considered as serving him?

Can these activities be considered service in itself, or not?

Are they there just to give impetus to some concrete service

or they can be already considered service on their own.

How are these activities classified?

I believe this would be grouped under "Bhagavata-sravana", hearing the Bhagavata, whether in person form or book form. It's one of the limbs of sadhana-bhakti (see Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu, Eastern ocean, second wave).
