Vedic literature

The question about the canon had stand before every religion. Judaism, Christianity and Islam as we know have closed canon, meaning that they had fixed which books are "God inspired".

Since we use the term "Veda" or "Vedic literature", what is the vaisnava opinion about the canon?

Do we have closed canon or is it open, accepting the idea that a book can be written today and still be "vedic literature"?

What is the criteria for "holy scripture" which we accept? Is there a definition?
