Now that kinda cracks me up! This is like three stooges of smarta-brahmanism!

Babhru Das - October 5, 2010 9:01 pm

I had two immediate responses, neither of which is very spiritually edifying.

1) Doesn't it seem to be a convention of Hindi movies that there are always two or three brahmana stooges?

2)Wasn't there a movie called Kung Fu Panda?

Good one Babhru - kung fu panda! ;)

How sad.

looks like the first steps for the lords to be moving soon as A C may have predicted. Although he is the lord of the universe they restrict access to only Indians.

Some thoughts...

1) There is a story how (I believe) Madhva Acarya got a task

from the Lord that he go around India and see what is wrong

in His temples, and to correct the mistakes in worship and

in general so that all is proper.

When he came to Puri he could see that the brahmanas

who are worshiping Lord Jagannath are sometimes eating

fish, they have sometimes strange behaviour, and they are

not so perfect as they should be. So Madhva corrected them

and explained how they should act.

The other morning Madhva wake up many kilometars from

Puri. He did not know what happened and how he got there

in this other place. That night in the dream he had a darshan of

the Lord who said to him: "I told you that you correct situation

in my temples, and not to corecct situation in My own Home."

When I heard this story I understood that these brahmanas

are somewhat special, and their behaviour should not always

be judged too hard.

2) Still, even they have (if I am well informed) some

high standards in their worship - like if some animal comes

near the kitchen and sees the food to be offered, or something

like that, they immediately throw it away and cook again...

All in all I do not know what to think of this incident..., although

in my personal oppinion Kali Yuga is advancing and prophesies

of the Bhagavatam are becoming more and more true in sense

that many people will be just dressed as brahmanas, but will

exploit their posts for their own purposes.

I think it was Ramanuja, though.
