Thursday Evening Phone Sanga with Swami

Karnamrita Das - April 25, 2005 2:01 pm

At the suggestion of Guru Maharaja we are opening our private nectar session to all the devotees. For most of the last 2 or 3 years we have been having a weekly conference call with Swami where we have a question and answer hour. We began in Baltimore and have continued it here in NC. I have thought about opening up the call, but I always wondered if it would be managable. In Baltimore we were moslty in one room using the speaker phone. However since now we are all calling one number from many places in does make sense to open up the call to everyone----at least we can try it.

You call one number and enter a password----like a tattva-viveka conference call. If you don't mind I will moderate it to help it go as smoothly as possible and ask for questions. Maharaja is on the call from 7-8 PM (EST) but I highly recommend that you come on early (I am there by 6:45 PM (EST) to schedule your questions.) We can all be heard so it is good to mute your self by pushing the 6 button when Swami begins to talk. Then you can push 6 again to ask a question.

Multitasking (ie washing dishes, typing etc) without muting yourself means everyone will hear that on the call which can be very distracting.

Another essential item is that I have to give the company the number of callers who will be on the line, so you need to email me by Wednesday if you are going to be on the call. Otherwise there may not be a line for you. 100 callers can be on the line at once, but I have to know in advance to make those lines available.

My email is: soulful108@yahoo.com. If you don't confirm yourself and then come to the call you might take someone elses spot. The company doesn't like unused lines so I can't just have many extra ones.

This is a regular long distance call in the USA with no special charges.

The phone number is (949) 373-0345 (Irving CA)

you will be prompted for the access code which is 10810864 followed by the #

the day is Thursday Apirl 28, 2005

the time is 6:45 to 8PM (EST)

please email me to confirm and mute yourself if necessary

Yours in service to Sri Guru and Gauranga,

Babhru Das - April 25, 2005 6:04 pm

Just to confirm a detail, is the time actually 7-8 pm Eastern Standard (not Daylight) time?

Shyam Gopal Das - April 25, 2005 7:16 pm

is there a way to have these conversation recorded? as there is probably no option for us non-us citizens to join the sanga technically as well as timewise.

Karnamrita Das - April 25, 2005 10:39 pm

Babhru Prabhu! It is daylight savings time. Whatever time it says by the clock.

Freddie recorded the last phone sanga call and it came out great. He will continue to do this, and we will make them available either by sending them to Audarya for distribution or some other means.

Nanda-tanuja Dasa - April 25, 2005 11:49 pm

It's 4-5 pacific, right?

Madangopal - April 26, 2005 2:23 am

yes, 4-5 pacific.

Karnamrita Das - April 26, 2005 8:19 pm

A friendly reminder. So far I have heard from only one devotee who will be on the call. Please, if you will be on the call email me (soulful108@yahoo.com) and I will reserve a line for you. I would prefer to hear by Wednesday evening---Thursday morning at the very latest.

Thanks for your understanding.

Nanda-tanuja Dasa - April 29, 2005 2:02 am

Well, if anybody is interested, the conference call with Swami was a pure nectar. Thank you, Karnamrita, very much for organizing it. Cannot wait for next week!

Babhru Das - April 29, 2005 2:50 am

I guess I'll have to wait until the semester is finished. Any highlights?

Bijaya Kumara Das - May 1, 2005 7:06 am

Is it going to be every Thursday ? If so

I would love to be on the call so please keep a spot for me open using 916 716 2542.

I am always working at that time but may get a break and if so I would be calling in.

Thank you,

Karnamrita Das - May 2, 2005 10:55 am

We have been having it on Thursday for some time now and we can continue that. My question to the devotees is would there be more participation if we had the call on Sunday at 10AM PST (Swami or Audarya time) which is 1PM EST on the east coast? That was the time we used to have it in Baltimore.

I am trying to see what would work best for the greatest number of devotees. I wonder how many Tattva-vivekis are on the West Coast? Anyway if you could let me know as soon as you can. We are leaving for New Vrndavana's "Festival of Inspirtation" on Thursday. I will have to set up the call by Wednesday so if I don't hear from you I will set it up for Thursday. I can change it later if necessary.

Karnamrita Das - May 11, 2005 11:52 am

This Thursday we will be having another call with Swami. Same time same number: Thursday evening at 7PM EST or 4PM PST. The number you call is (949)373-0345, then you enter the code when prompted: 10810864 and #. Please email me to confirm. Thanks!

Karnamrita Das - May 17, 2005 3:55 pm

Another Thursday evening call. Please email me to confirm your attendance so I can reserve a line for you.

I will not be available this Thursday evening. So I would like to suggest that you move the date to Saturday, same time.

Yes saturday evenings are great for me or even fridays or sundays
