Just a thought

aho bhagyam aho bhagyam

nanda-gopa vrajaukasam

yam mitram paramanandam

purna-brahma sanatanam

This verse came to my mind one hour ago or so, while I was waiting for my tomato soup to heat up and going about my business. I looked at the permanently rain-soaked deck and thought how fortunate the gopis are, going about their own business, helping Yasodarani in her household affairs, because when they look out on the yard they see chubby little Krsna and Rama playing on the ground with pebbles or something and they stop everything to just look at them in their yellow and blue short garments, like I was doing imagining them on my deck.

Alas, at the present moment I can only imagine these things (everybody knows that Krsna and Balarama would never set foot in Ireland).

Anyway, no matter how far we are, we are all so very fortunate, so incredibly fortunate, because we know where to head to.

Jaya Krsna Balarama!

PS Maybe someone can post the translation of this verse please.

"How greatly fortunate are Nanda Maharaja, the cowherd men and all the other inhabitants of Vrajabhumi! There is no limit to their good fortune, because the Absolute Truth, the source of transcendental bliss, the eternal Supreme Brahman, has become their friend." (Srimad-bhagavatam 10.14.32)

Nice thought, though. Sometimes it's not hard to imagine that Krishna and Balaram might live here (wait--they do!) and run around in our forest, if only we had some cows. <sigh>
