For those of you who are wondering what happened to Gaudiya Discussions, here's the story in short.
First the domain name expired a while back, the site dropped offline. That was renewed and the issue fixed. Then, the server dropped dead. We then resurrected it. Then, an event aptly entitled "septic explosion" by a fellow devotee took place. It was preceded by several weeks of noticeably increased traffic, reminding us of flocks of flies buzzing in the direction of promising odors.
The course of the site had been primarily downhill since a good while, pretty much ever since the rest of the moderators lost their interest in trying to guide it onwards, and as I (Madhava) left it up to the members to decide where they wanted their discussions to go to, limited as I was in my time to babysit the forum ongoings. These three events we took as a sign that enough is enough, and the site was shut down both to conserve our server resources and our dear selves.
We no longer have the interest to try to resurrect it. An archive of the discussions will be provided in due course of time. The main domain will be aliased to a new site acting as a portal to a number of projects we work on, portal helping people keep up to date of what's new in the beautiful Gaudiya world we seek to dive into.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to everyone who participated over the years, and we wish to especially thank those who substantially contributed towards what we hoped the forum to grow into, posting those beautiful poems, sharing insights on our theology and bhajan practices.
