Last night at 11:45 p.m., Goloka had her calf. It is a tiny bull calf and Guru Maharaja named him Damodara, in honor of his appearing on the last night of Karttika, the month of Damodara. It was a long labor (almost six hours) and he came out still in his amnionic sac, which we had to break open so that he wouldn't suffocate. He weighed in at only 18.5 lbs. Goloka is a great mother and adores her new baby. We're hoping that when he's bigger we can train him to pull a cart for the Deities.
Great news! Jaya Damodara! Jaya Loki!
Wonderful news!
Yea!!! Congratulations to Goloka. Thanks for posting the pics. I've always wanted to see a cow's birth. The picture of Damodara taking his first milky is one of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. Jai Damodara! What a perfect name.
Jaya Jaya Damodara!
It just so amazing how these births are timed. I love him and thank you for posting all the in vivo pictures. Never saw a sac before but i am glad I have now.
Can't wait to pet him and hope that Goloka will let me.
Soooooooooooooooo many babies
Great news! Congrats to the mother and all of you!
I just saw this! very happy news!!
Beautiful photos!
Damodara is gorgeous (or should I say "handsome" ) I wish I could come and give him a hug right now...
Beautiful indeed! That picture of Guru Maharaja hugging Damodara is out of this world.
I read in the eleventh canto recently about how one can worship the Lord in cows by feeding them grass and other foods, but I'm sure hugging would count as well!
